About Heather McBroom

Heather McBroom is deeply committed to empowering others, especially in under-resourced communities. During her work with the nonprofit, Heather found herself passionate about community development and being a voice for under-resourced communities. She is driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, and her leadership and entrepreneurial experience reflect a desire to make a meaningful impact in any community. She would spend countless hours advocating, empowering, and supporting small businesses in her community.

Heather has been recognized numerous times for her contributions to the small business community including award recognition from the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center, Southern Colorado Better Business Bureau and the Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC as the 2023 Small Business Champion of the Year.

Her Entrepreneurial Journey

Heather started her first business in 2011, a Process Serving company. Utilizing her legal expertise and experience, she led the industry in professionalism and accountability. She grew her business and eventually sold it 10 years later.

In 2013, she started an Electrical Contracting company focusing on government contracts and generated over $2M dollars in revenue in the first year of business. In 2018, she sold her shares to her partner.

In 2017, Heather founded a Commercial Insurance Agency and Bookkeeping Agency. She worked with hundreds of businesses to teach them how to properly protect their businesses and make good financial decisions. She also worked as a Fractional COO/CFO for many of her clients, offering tailored advice and helping them implement processes that will support the scaling of their businesses. She eventually sold both businesses in 2022 to work for a local nonprofit whose mission it is to empower under-resourced communities through entrepreneurship training.
